German Courses
You will find just the right program for you at the Indy Foreign Language Academy. We offer programs for all children, teens, students, adults and business executives. Classes are offered at our offices, as well as at your location, virtually over the Internet and by DVD. Whether you’re a visual or auditory learner, we can custom fit a program to your exact learning style.

Conversational German I
Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Our beginning level German course introduces students to the basic concepts of the language while focusing on German as a part of everyday life. Topics include common greetings, asking for and giving personal information, basic vocabulary for travelers, colors and numbers, and the fundamentals of pronunciation. Students will learn to hold a basic conversation after this course on the topics that were covered in class. This class meets for eight weeks for 90 minutes per class.

Conversational German II
This course is a continuation of Conversational German I or an entry level class for students who have previously studied German. In this course the basics of German grammar are introduced, but most emphasis is placed on listening comprehension and vocabulary building. Students gain greater confidence in using German in everyday situations.

Intermediate German I
Students who have mastered the basics of German work to advance their conversational abilities and vocabularies.

Intermediate German II
Designed for students with significant experience in German, our advanced intermediate course prepares students to use German as the only language of everyday communication.

Advanced German Conversation
Just looking to keep your German skills sharp? If you have studied German for sometime and already have a good grasp of grammar and a strong vocabulary, this class is for you. Students in our Advanced Conversation classes improve their speaking and listening skills through an entirely conversation-based program with a native instructor, while discussing current events and culture in the German-speaking world.

Destination: Germany
Make the most of your next trip to Germany, Austria or Switzerland! This fun four-week course gives you basic German phrases without the grammar. You’ll learn basic greetings, numbers, how to ask for directions, answer basic questions, and, of course, order in a restaurant or bar!

Travel Essentials: German
Planning a trip to Germany? In a hurry to learn what you need to navigate your destination? Join us for a three-hour class designed specifically for travelers. Learn basic phrases to use while visiting Germany and take home a CD to help you practice on the plane.

European Tour
Whether you are traveling to Europe, unsure which language you'd like to study, or fascinated by all four languages, this course is for you! Students learn the basics of communication in Spanish, French, German and Italian, with emphasis on everyday vocabulary and travel situations.
