English As A Second Language Courses

You will find just the right program for you at the Indy Foreign Language Academy. We offer programs for all children, teens, students, adults and business executives. Classes are offered at our offices, as well as at your location, virtually over the Internet and by DVD. Whether you’re a visual or auditory learner, we can custom fit a program to your exact learning style.

Everyday English I

This beginning-level class is designed for students of all language backgrounds. Learn English for use in everyday life in the United States. Students learn how to express needs and desires, accomplish basic business transactions and to more confidently interact with native speakers.

Everyday English II

A continuation of our beginning-level English class, students continue to expand their vocabulary and increase their proficiency in English as a language of everyday life.

English for the Service Industry I

This class is for students who have already completed our Everyday English courses or who have previously attained an advanced-beginning to intermediate level of English. Students explore vocabulary and phrases most commonly used in the various service industries in the U.S. Course content will vary slightly depending upon the focus of the students in the class.

Students who continue our English for Service Industry track further expand their work-related vocabulary and gain greater confidence in using English.

English for Construction and Manufacturing I

This class is for students who have already completed our Everyday English courses or who have previously attained an advanced-beginning to intermediate level of English.  Students explore vocabulary and phrases most commonly used on the jobsite or in the factory.  Course content will vary slightly depending upon the focus of the students in the class.

Intermediate English I

Students who have already completed our Everyday English courses or who have previously attained an advanced-beginning to intermediate level of English expand their knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary for general use.

Intermediate English II

A class for intermediate to upper-intermediate students who want to continue to advance their knowledge of English grammar and structure while expanding their vocabulary

Advanced English Conversation

Advanced ESL students expand their vocabulary and practice correct grammatical structure through discussion of current events.

Accent Reduction

English isn't your first language, but you've mastered vocabulary and grammar well enough to live and work in the U.S. This course is designed to help with a different aspect of ESL: pronunciation.  Open to any intermediate or advanced speaker of English, regardless of native language.

TOEFL Preparation

Prepare yourself for the TOEFL with a thorough review of speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar. Open to all ESL students who plan to take this test in the near future.
