Conversational Arabic I
Our beginning-level Arabic course introduces students to the basic concepts of the language while focusing on Arabic as a part of everyday life. Topics include common greetings, asking for and giving personal information, basic vocabulary for travelers, colors and numbers, and the fundamentals of pronunciation. A dozen basic characters will be taught during the course. This class meets for eight weeks for 90 minutes per class.
Conversational Arabic II
This course is a continuation of Conversational Arabic I or an entry level class for students who have previously studied Arabic. In this course the basics of Arabic grammar are introduced, but most emphasis is placed on listening comprehension and vocabulary building. Students gain greater confidence in using Arabic in everyday situations.
Intermediate Arabic I
Students move beyond the basics as they further their conversational abilities and knowledge of the Arabic language.
Intermediate Arabic II
Designed for students with significant knowledge of Arabic structure and vocabulary, this class prepares students to use Arabic as a sole means of communication.
Advanced Arabic Conversation
Taught entirely in Arabic, this course allows students to practice their new language in an environment where correction is still available. Students practice new vocabulary while discussing culture and world events.
Culture In Focus: The Arab World
For students who plan to travel for business or who will not need to speak a foreign language during their trip, we offer "Culture in Focus" classes that examine the cultural differences between the United States and the destination country.
